Windows 10: Laptop restarts on an infinite loop after I tried to update it

Hey I was updating my rog laptop and fell asleep. I woke to my laptop continually rebooting like this- ROG logo, swirling loading dots appear, black screen. A cmd window flashes for a frame and then goes back to black for a bit. Two messages flash by very quickly displaying "attempting to recover installation" and then "undoing changes made to your computer". The computer then restarts.

There is an endless loop of this and I tried to look up videos on how to do a safe mode boot up an windows 10 but I could not do that. I was holding down random buttons and got a Asus boot screen to appear, but I couldn't find any way to recover updates or anything to do with the windows version. I also looked for other boot options but could not find anything that I thought I could do anything with. I didn't dare fool around with anything I was unfamiliar with because this laptop was quite pricey and is only 1.5/2 years old.

I haven't yet tried to boot from a USB and do not have a disk drive to boot from CD. I am starting to get worried that I may not be able to save my files. Luckily I have most of my stuff on a external hard drive but I have a lot of videos and pictures I would like to keep that are on the internal hard drive.

The model is a Asus GL503V. I haven't made any major changes to any major part of the os (no dual booting or anything) and have a pretty reliable antivirus software. I have had trouble with windows updates in the past but the worst that would happen is it would keep asking to restart for updates immediately after I updated it (which probably means it failed)

Windows 10 Infinite Restart Loop

I have a Lenovo Yoga 510 with Windows 10 installed. It is my son's computer. He was watching a Youtube video and the screen suddenly went blank and the laptop entered an apparently infinite restart loop. It simply says it is fixing a problem and has to restart.
It says that the stopcode information is that something has tried to write Read Only Memory.

I cannot interrupt the restart loop to get it to start in safe mode or do anything at all in fact. Please help.

 

Infinite Repair Loop


I have an HP 14-ac151nr laptop. It attempts to diagnose and repair but loops. Cannot access safemode.

Have tried startup repair
bootrec.exe with /rebuildbcd & /fixmbr & /fixboot
chkdisk

I found this while searching the forum. Startup Repair Infinite Loop Recovery - Windows 7 Help Forums and tried it. on step 13 it said "The file sizes presented here are approximate estimations, and may vary depending on your system. If any one of them are 0 bytes, then you should stop what you're doing now and seek an alternative method of recovering your system, because Windows cannot function with a 0-byte size registry hive."

Of course everything was 0-byte.*Mad

I would assume its toast and I would need to do a clean install, or maybe a repair install or something else? Not sure what is the best action at this point. Need advice.

 

Infinite restart loop

I tried reinstalling windows through a usb drive when it suddenly needed to recover and when I went through the process of installing it, my computer died, and now it's on a infinite restart loop saying this:

Install Windows

The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.

I press ok, it restarts, but it says the same thing again every time how can I fix this
