Windows 10: System administrator has set policies to prevent this installation.

I attempted to install an application that I need and I get the message: "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." How do I get this application installed? I have very limited computer knowledge and am using the computer at the local library. I don't have inter net at home.

Window 10 will not allow me to install programs. "System administrator has set policies to prevent this installation."

When the message "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" displays, a particular
Local Security Policy setting may be preventing you from running installations involving MSI files.

Try the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1:

Run the software setup file as an administrator and check if it helps.

a. Right click on the setup file of the software that you are trying to install.

b. Select “Run as administrator”.

Step 2:

a. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter.

b. Click on Software Restriction Policies.

c. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement".

d. Select “All users except local administrators”.

e. Click Ok and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed.
