How to move Folders from C drive to D Drive (Windows 10)?

Hi, I am new to windows, have used MacOS since the early 90’s. This is probably a simple question but my C drive 100GB & the D drive is 142GB. The OS has used 43.3 GB, so I would just like to move folders such as documents, music, downloads etc to the larger D drive. Or is it possible to just have the one HD? Is there a reason for having 2 drives. Thanks in advance.

    :)

can anyone explain why my d drive has 759 GB

and my c drive 239 GB

is there any logical reason for this type of partitioning?

i back up to G drive - external drive.

What can i do with D drive, how can i utilize this 759 GB of space?

  3. Windows 10 search not showing any document in C&D drive

    Hi,

In windows 10 search, if I try to search any document in my C or D drive, that doesn’t show in the search result. whereas if I change the Filter "All" Category to "folder" or documents it will show there.

Example: I have a folder named “AAA” in C Drive, and I search that folder in windows 10 search, there will be no result, same time if I change the Filter “All” to Folder, there I can found this folder “AAA”.

Note that the C and D Drives are already in the indexing list. And I have rebuild the indexing, still I couldn’t solve this issue.

No C: but D: drive has all the data

    Hi Austin,

To help you with your concern regarding the data on the drive C:, you're seeing the drive "C:" as the drive "D:" because you're booting your computer outside Windows. When booting your computer outside Windows, the system is reading the recovery partition
as drive C: and the data in the drive C: \ are listed on the drive D: \. Try to boot your computer and try to check again the data in the drive C: \ and see if the data are listed.

    Regards.
