  1. WIFI doesn't automatically connect on start-up on HP laptop after BIOS and Win updates

HP laptop running Win 10 Po. Updated BIOS, (through the HP help assistant), and other windows 10 updates and afterwards the WIFI will not start up at boot up. On first boot up the WIFI does not start. Clicking on the WIFI button in the notification bar on the right brings up the network dialogue box with WIFI button, Airplane mode button, and WIFI hotspot button. Clicking on the WIFI button just makes it turn dark. The dialogue dropdown box gives choices for manual turning on, or turning on WIFI in specified times. Going to WIFI in network in the settings menu presents a toggle switch for turning on WIFI, which when clicked on, turns blue and says WIFI is on, but it isn't. Running network troubleshooting brings up the solution of turning the WIFI on with the physical button on the laptop. This laptop has only a physical airplane mode button. Pressing that button shows the airplane mode turning on, and pressing it again, shows airplane mode being turned off. On the first boot up, you cannot turn the WIFI on. Restarting the computer the WIFI is still off, but bringing up the WIFI dialogue box I can click on the WIFI button, and then the WIFI turns on. Checked, and all the WIFI networks are still set for connect automatically when in range. Kind of a pain to have to start up the laptop 2 times in a row to get the WIFI to work. Because the updates and the new BIOS where installed at the same time, it is pretty difficult to say which might be the culprit. I know how to roll back updates if needed. Not sure how or if the new BIOS can be rolled back, so would appreciate help with it if that is determined should be done.

    Thank you for any help

    :)

Windows doesn`t start. Authomatic repair doesn`t work.

    Thanks again!!

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

I ran SeaTools. These are the results:

Laptop unable to automatically connect to university wifi

    Hello,

as the Title says, ever since upgrading to windows 10, my laptop will not automatically connect to my university wifi. It simply says (translated from german) "connection to this network is impossible".
to bypass this issue i have to go to the "known networks" list and make my laptop forget the university wifi network.
after that i can manually connect to the wifi and it prompts me to type in my id and pass as it is supposed to, then it logs me in. It is (obviously) a public network, so i suppose its got to do something with security settings, but i didnt find anything that would seem to solve the issue.
    things ive tried:
    • change frequency of 802.11 to 20MHz only (from automatically).
    • enable FIPS encryption.
    • Update my network adapters drivers.
    • manually type in the id and pw in the specific networks settings

the thing is, when i had win7 on this laptop it would always autoconnect to this network, it only happened after installing win10.

    edit: fixed typo in title
