Windows 10: Command Prompt Defrag

Hi All.

I have a question on CMD Prompt Defrag and boot records.

If I had to access the CMD Prompt via the "Choose Options"

Troubleshoot/Advanced Options/Command Prompt.

If I had to run the defrag utility from here would this by default also defrag my MFT and boot record files or not.

Would appreciate your help on this one.

command prompt will not open in safe mode with command prompt

Would I just follow the same steps within safe mode after hooking up to the other system?

If say your external drive is Drive D, these are the commands to analyze and defrag that drive:

Analyze the drive:

defrag D: /A

Defrag the Drive:

defrag D: /U
