Xbox controller not showing up as an input device at all on PC (Windows 10)

Hello, I was simply trying to play my video game with my xbox one controller, to where I ran into an issue where it wouldn't recognize that the controller was trying to participate in the computers actions. For example, I plugged in my controller, it vibrated; however, it never turned on for the PC to be a useable other device. Now, I already went into the Device Properties and every driver that has some sort association with the controller is completely updated, so I believe it's not a driver issue. Secondly, I already tried wirelessly connecting it to my PC, and that failed as well. Third, I tried to find some sort of signal output that the controller was giving off, however that failed. Now, I did change my ports and did change the controller to see if it were those issues as well, but failed. Does anyone have any sort of solution?

    :)

  3. Xbox One Controllers not working on Windows 10 PC.

    Hi,

One possible reason as to why your Windows 10 device can't detect the controller is due to outdated device drivers. We suggest checking if there are updates available for the controller and your Windows 10 PC. Refer to the following links for the steps:

Another solution we recommend is to run the Windows troubleshooter for devices and driver. This can help resolve issues with connecting a device on Windows 10.
See How to use Microsoft easy fix solutions and look for Find
and fix problems with devices and hardware
    .

If the same issue occurs, kindly perform the following steps to manually add the controller:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Devices.
    • Select Connected Devices.
    • If the controller is not listed under Other devices, kindly click Add a device. Follow the on-screen prompts to manually add the device.
    • Restart your computer so that the changes can take effect.

Keep us posted with the results. We'd be glad to further assist you.

Xbox Controller is not connecting to Wireless Adapter

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate your time and patience to work on this issue. To have a better clarity on the issue please reply to the following questions:

    • Are you using an Xbox one controller?

If you are using an Xbox one controller, I suggest you to refer the steps in the article

How to connect an Xbox One Wireless Controller to a Windows PC
and see if that helps in resolving the issue.

I would also suggest you to uninstall all the hidden devices under USB hive and check if you are able to connect the wireless adapter. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the hidden drivers:

    1. Press and hold the Windows + X key on the keyboard.
    2. Select Device manager.
    3. Click View tab.
    4. Select Show hidden devices.
    5. Expand Universal Serial Bus and remove all the greyed out devices. To remove the greyed out devices, right click on the device and select
      uninstall.
    6. Restart your computer.

Please reply with the status of the issue, we will be glad to help you further.
