Windows 10: Keyboard and mouse disconnected and now won’t work on USB 3.0 slots

Ok so I was playing fortnite (yes noob game) however I was running into a problem where my mouse was disconnecting and reconnecting and obviously I though that was weird, it then proceeded to get worse and the disconnects lasted longer and longer until both my keyboard and mouse disconnected and I haven’t been able to connect them. I’m thinking it’s the USB 3.0 slots because no matter which one I put either the keyboard or mouse in it doesn’t work? Is this a hardware or software issue and if either what should I do?

Best solutions is ti use a Dell - USB compatable Mouse and Keyboard.
IF no Dell Mouse/Keyboard; try any USB mouse & keyboard, most work some don't.
