Windows 10: Folder name shows 2 DIFF names this bug was FIXED in a build ver prior to 2004 19037.1

Greetings , I want to say thanks to my backups in my Synology NAS all is well.


Explorer has " acquired a OLD bug " somewhere from the regular version from 16 months ago , until I decide to start the " FAST " updates to the latest. Before I explain the bug in detail I can tell you that Microsoft FIXED it in a intermediate build .


I wish I had kept details on the version number, but I have been giving feedback to MS from the feedback button under this account name I'm using here.


The bug is : I have a music folder, once I discovered the bug was back I RENAMED it to e:\ ! E Music 25gb .


I did this to demonstrate the problem, BUT when you click under permissions for this folder, it shows the ORIGINAL name it had ! M.U.S.I.C 666 (UNIX PERMISSIONS FOLLOW ME STILL ).


The reason I discovered the bug was back is because I LOVE and use MonkeyMedia at least every other day, and it SEES that folder as ! M.U.S.I.C. now I have verified my user name OWNS this folder and that it is NOT shared (used to be) and that is NOT locked for writting permissions. after I exhausted all options that come to mind I started up XYPlorer another program that I use from time to time.


below (last screen capture) is a screen capture of my E:\ drive where you will see Windows Explorer window on top and XYplorer below to and here is Monkey Media showing the name (highlighted) also as ! M.U.S.I.C.

Changing name of system folder (2 same system forlders)

3. It is not possible to change their name, that´s the problem.

2. Open Users folder from the list.

3. Click on the user name folder and then tap on F2 Key.

4. Change the name of the folder and hit on Enter Key.

5. It will ask for Administrator Permission and click on Ok.

6. Folder name will be changed.
