  1. Can't move my OS to another drive

Trying to move Windows 10 from my 120GB SSD to a new 500 GB SSD, but I'm getting an error:

Windows did not find any disk which it can use for recreating volumes present in backup. (0x80042414)

Here's what I've tried so far:

    • Following these instructions, I've created a system image onto my 500GB drive.
    • I've restarted my computer and booted it from my original Windows 10 installation USB.
    • I've selected Troubleshoot > System Image Recovery and selected the recovery image on the 500 GB drive
    • I excluded a couple drives from re-formatting: My 1TB storage drive and the Windows install USB.

The first time I went through the process, it restored the image to my 120GB drive, not to the 500 GB drive as intended. The second time I thought I would be clever and pull the 120 GB drive, forcing it use the 500GB. That's when I got the the error message.

I re-attached the 120GB drive and booted normally. My computer is still working fine, but I'd love to move Windows onto this 500GB and get it off this 120. Help me, r/Windows10, you're my only hope.

    DVD Drive issues.

The games used to run, now apparently the disks don't even read.

Go to Device Manager and remove the DVD
Scan for hardware changes and update driver as OS suggests

    Still not working?

    1) Clean the heads.
    2) Run a diagnostic program on the drive.

Nothing else has changed about your system aside from the OS?

Revert to XP Home, assuming you don't find the source of the problem in steps above.
