    Adaptive Power Settings is Missing from the Advance Power Options. This is happened after the recent Windows Update 1909.


    Windows 10 Home Single Language.

    OS Build : 18363.476.


    My Drivers are up to date and have updated all the things needed but nothing is working out.

    In order to get clarity on this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the answers to the questions below.



    1. What is the name of the game that you are trying to play?
    2. What is the make and model number of your laptop?
    3. What is the version of your Windows 10 computer? (To check the version of your Windows 10, you can refer
      See which version of Windows 10 you have).


    Meanwhile, you can enable the adaptive brightness by going to Settings >
    System > Display and check box the option
    Change brightness automatically when lighting changes
    .



    Also, you can follow the below steps to enable the adaptive brightness from Control Panel.



    1. Open Control Panel > and click on
      Power Options.
    2. Open your active power plan, you’ll see Change plan settings option. Click
      Change plan settings next to your current power plan to open
      Edit Plan Settings
      window.
    3. Click Change advanced power settings option. This will open
      Power Options dialog.
    4. Expand Display and then expand
      Enable adaptive brightness
      . Change it to On.
    5. Restart the computer once for the changes to take effect and check if the brightness/contrast changes.

    Hello Simon, i'm Timon and i'm glad to help you.

    Did you already try these steps ?:

    - Open the “Control Panel” in the start menu.

    - Find then click on “Power Options”.

    - Click “Change plan settings” next to the current power plan.

    - Choose “Change advanced power settings”.

    - Scroll down and locate the “Display” and expand it for “Enable adaptive brightness.”

    - Change the settings to Off, then hit “Apply” to save your settings.

    If the option is missing, you may try with command prompt.

    Hi Marc,

    In addition to the troubleshooting step that you have already done, we suggest that you try disabling the adaptive brightness from your PC. Follow the steps below and see if it resolves the issue:

    • From the Search bar, type Power Options.
    • Click Power Options from the result. Under Preferred plans, click
      Change plan settings.
    • Click Change advanced power settings and select Enable adaptive brightness to turn it
      ON or OFF.
    After saving the changes, restart your PC and check if issue still occurs.
