Windows 10: Is my computer hacked?!!!

Today I tried to download a song from youtube using the site- 'ytmp3.cc'. When I tried to download the song on Edge, a new tab opened up and a voice (Microsoft Zira) started to say, "Your computer has been locked up due to security issues. Don't skip this important message. Your IP address was used without your knowledge. Immediately contact the Microsoft support center to get help.

So, I contacted the given number, And a person picked up. He asked me whether I use it for home or work? (home), am I the only user of it or not? (yes), for what purpose, do I use the computer most? (school). After that, he told me to go to Task manager and end Edge's task. I did what he told me to do. Obviously, the whole window was gone. But I don't think that's the perfect solution for that. I have a feeling that my computer is already hacked. Is my instinct right? Do I need to do anything else to protect my computer? Answer please!!!


(Note: I downloaded many youtube videos from that website before. But those were from chrome.)

Hacked computer

My computer was hacked and I lost my admin rights. I tried doing a recovery, but that failed. Incomplete. Can't get to lock screen anymore

Any suggestions?

 

Email Hacked

thank you for your response and the great information you provided.

I use two step authentication for my email account and all important web sites. I also use the full version of Malwarebytes to protect my computer.

But I will do the scans you suggested AdwCleaner and Limewire.com and let you know the results.

I am worried though that the webcam installed on my laptop could have been hacked. I never use it and forgot about it, so never disabled it.

Any suggestions as to find if it was actually hacked?

There are a few steps that we can apply to remove that malicious software from your computer. Before we proceed with the troubleshooting, we'd like to know the following:

• Do you have other admin user profiles on your computer?
• Were you able to access desktop screen?
• Is your computer still connected to a public network?
