Control Panel Mail "Application Not Found" after Office reinstallation

    All

When I logged on to my Windows 10 64-bit PC today, when I tried to open Outlook, it refused to work and I was presented with message I was "Error Code 0x426-0x0". No other Office application worked: I use Office 2016 32-bit.

Following various instructions I have been able to get Office 2016 working after a re-install (See https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...45ee4e2?page=3). But in Control Panel I find that the Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016) icon is missing. Clicking the text simply gives message:

I wonder if anyone knows how to re-enable this icon or to remove icons from Control Panel itself. Mail settings can always be changed within Outlook anyway.

    Thanks

    .

    :)

  2. Control Panel Mail "Application Not Found"

I CONFIRMED THE FIX! : ) I saw a previous post suggesting to reinstall Office with 64 bit it should resolve the issue.

I reinstalled Office by choosing 64 bit, reconfigured Outlook and the mail is now opening from Control Panel and I can see my profiles.

Note: The icon stills blank however it is working. I am not sure if the icon original format will return eventually after Windows and Office updates.

I am pretty sure it will if I reinstall the OS however I am glad it is working for now.

The app MAIL is not shown in the Control Panel

    Hi Esteban,

If you are not seeing the Mail icon from the Control Panel, then there is a possibility that the installation was incomplete. However, let's try finding it from the Apps & features in the Settings. We'd also like to verify if you are referring to the Windows
10 Mail app icon or the Outlook Mail icon.

Try checking from the list of apps by following the steps below:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Apps.
    • Click Apps & features.
    • Look for the Mail icon.

Try looking it from the Control Panel once more by using the Search function on the upper right corner. Type Mail and see if it will show up.

If it is not there, and you're referring to the Outlook app, then try
    uninstalling and reinstalling Office apps
    .

Get back to us with the outcome so we can help you out further.
