Windows 10: USB driver is dated 2006 - can that be right?

Discus and support USB driver is dated 2006 - can that be right? in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; I've lost the ability to connect my Samsung phone to transfer files since the last major (features) update.     USB driver is dated 2006 - can that be right?


    I've lost the ability to connect my Samsung phone to transfer files since the last major (features) update. Done all of the recommended checks - but the one that perplexes me is the inability to get an updated driver.


    Is there a way to find out what the current driver version should be? And if there is a new one how can I download it - as Update is not providing one.

    Driver problem when trying to unlock X850 PRO AGP

    I am going to go through the procedure again so I can report step by step. I am not going to uninstall the driver before reflashing the BIOS. I am using Catalyst 6.8 right now. Display properties shows ATI driver 8.282.0.0 right now, date of 8/2006. Are Omega Drivers better than ATI's?

    USB problems

    checked all of those suggestions an still no luck. They show as being there and enabled but doesnt recognize anything you plug into them. I got a driver checker as well and it lists the drivers as up to date. could this be a bad motherboard?

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Troubleshoot

    Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your USB. Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
    • Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter


    Method 2.

    Try updating the latest USB devices from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

    Follow the steps to update the USB drivers:

    a. Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.

    b. Expand the USB driver.

    c. Right-click on the USB and click on Update driver software.

    d. Restart the computer and check.
