  1. Display Adapter issue on a newly replaced Dell notebook screen

    Hello,

I've accidentally broken my notebook screen last week and I've bought the same model in order to replace it myself (since I know how to do it), but because it's no longer under production I was given the same "replacement" model from the manufacturer, which makes sense. I wasn't happy and already foreseeing trouble but... I took it.

I can access BIOS, I can access and go through all pre-installed "stress tests" provided by Dell like troubleshooting software etc, Windows Recovery Menu, I see the screen images, all good and perfect - so it's NOT a Hardware issue - I can also use the new screen under Windows Safe Mode but it simply doesn't work (it's ON, I can see that, but all black) when I go for a standard reboot.

I can perfectly access my external monitor via HDMI, which I'm using right now to write this.

I've tried everything. Disabled, uninstalled and reinstalled the latest versions of both Display Adapters drivers (Intel UHD Graphics 620 and even the NVIDIA GeForce 940x, which is not controlling the primary screen), did the same to "Monitors" on Device Manager, deleted, updated drivers, etc. Nothing. Black screen after reboot sequence and the image switches to the 2nd screen when it's time for my login credentials.

Of course that when I try to "Identify" or "Detect" another display on Display Settings it just says "Didn't detect another display". Just the external one (connected via HDMI).

Nothing works but it really seems to be a Windows 10 / drivers issue, given the previous explanation.

    Computer Model: DELL Inspiron 7570

    Display Manufacturer: BOE

    Broken Screen: NV156FHM-N35

    New Screen: NV156FHM-N45

Can anyone please help me with this issue? What type of info could I add here?

    Thank you.

    :)

  2. Issue with black screen, dual display, ATI Integrated GPU

    Hi,

I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to go to device manager and disable the display drivers, check whether the issue persists or not.

    • Press Windows + X keys and click
      Device manager.
    • Click to expand Display adapters, right click the second adapter and click
      Disable.
    • Restart the computer and check whether the issue persists or not.
    • Repeat the same steps to disable the first display adapter and check if it helps.

If you find the issue is with anyone of the display adapters then, I suggest you to update the display drivers from the manufactures website for Windows 10 and check if it helps.

Method 2: I suggest you to follow the steps form the below article for

  3. Dell 5580 and Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter

We love the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter - it's easy for everyone to walk in with their laptop and connect to project their screen. Except for those who have Dell 5580s.

The Dell 5480s and SurfacePros connect great, but not the Dell 5580s.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this for the 5580s?

  4. Display Adapter issue on a newly replaced Dell notebook screen

Windows 10 - Dell All in one display issue

    Hi,

Thanks for the response. Here are the answers.

    • Is this the first time you experienced the issue?
No - I have been having this issue for long. Contacted Dell support. They thought it is a hardware issue and replaced the complete front panel in the all in one PC. But the problem still exists and now they suspect it to be a software issue. I contacted
    MS india too.

    • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g. updates, software installation)?
Windows 10 came pre loaded with the machine. After that regular updates have been happening

    • Are you getting any error messages? If yes, what is the error message?
No messages are displayed. When the screen resumes will get a PC icon at the right of the screen

    • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
Contacted Dell and MS India support. No response so far

    Thanks
