Lets put together a troubleshooting list for Windows networking

There are so many different ways that Windows networking suddenly doesn't work. Can we all put together a troubleshooting list, and then prioritize it. For each item, include the relevant Settings menu or related. Maybe the tutorial writers could eventually make this list into a tutorial.

    Here is my contribution.
Check that all systems are on the same WiFi network. - click on the WiFi (or Ethernet) icon on the right side of the taskbar.

    Here is my next contribution.
Check that Network discovery is turned on. (Windows is always mysteriously turning OFF this setting.) Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings.

    :)

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

  3. Windows 10 Upgrade - my wireless network isn't listed after hibernate (but other networks are)

    Hello,

I suggest you to run the Network troubleshooter and check. It is an automated tool which can find and automatically fix some common networking problems. Follow these steps and run the troubleshooter.

    • In the search box, type Troubleshooter and then click
      Troubleshooting.

    • Under Network and Internet.

    • Click on Network adaptor and Click on
      Next button.
I suspect that the issue is with you router, therefore I suggest you to contact your ISP and check.

    Hope it helps.
