Windows 10: Canon Printer stopped Printing emails or Windows Printer Test Page

I have a Canon Pixma MG5450s printer. I cannot fully print emails or the Windows Printer Test page.


When I print emails I only get hyperlinks to the email addresses. eg *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

On The Windows Printer Test I only get the header Windows Printer Test Page and the printer Icon.



I have run the troubleshooter, no errors indicated. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, no change. I have checked for driver updates, all up to date.


I can print from a word 2013 document but if I copy the text from an email into word and print I get a blank page.

If you are talking about Windows printer test page, you could try an alternative one from Print a Test Page. Your printer may also come with some cleaning diagnostic utilities which may include some test pages too.

A Windows test page sole purpose is to list all information directly related to how Windows communicates with your printer. This means driver listings, the printer model and available printing styles. It is not used for testing the alignment and color etc... This is what the printer utilities are for.

Error - Printing on Network printer

We have 4 printers on our Windows print server. The server was migrated from win2k3 to 2k8 on friday. 3/4 printers are working great, the other is having issues. When trying to print a test page to it, it gets a job status of Error - Printing.

When sending a small word document to it, it sends it to the printer, the queue is empty but nothing prints. If I goto the printer itself, it doesnt show any errors and I can print things such as information sheets and diagnostic files just fine.

All four printers are the same model, all 4 have a static IP. I can ping the printer successfully. I've tried printing from both an XP machine and the print server itself. I tried removing and adding the printer on the print server. And lastly, uunplugged the printer for 30 seconds, plugged it back in.

Any ideas?
