Windows 10: Choose a different camera for Windows Hello

Hi,


I have a Lenovo with an IR camera and a Logitech Brio. When I go through the Hello set up process it uses the built in camera, not the Brio. If I disable the internal camera Hello uses the Biro. This is a pretty blunt solution though, is there a better way to tell Hello to use the Brio rather than the internal camera? The reason being, I use the Lenovo at home with the lid closed.

To isolate this concern, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Right-click on Start menu.
• Go to Device Manager.
• Under System devices, right-click on Microsoft IR camera front and choose
  Properties.
• Go to Driver tab.
• Click on Update Driver.
• Choose Browse my computer for driver software.
• Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
• Choose Microsoft IR camera front.
• Click on Next and let the driver install.
• Restart the computer.
• Once done, repeat the said steps but this time choose Camera Windows Hello under
  System devices.

You can try these steps and see if it will make any difference:

• Power cycle

1. Turn off the phone then remove the back cover and the battery.

2. Reinsert the battery and the back cover then turn on your phone.

• Reset your camera settings

1. Go to Settings.

2. Swipe to Application settings.

3. Choose Photos+camera.

4. Select Reset camera.
