Windows 10: Games running extremely slow after re-installing windows 10

My PC can run most games at max graphics like Universe Sandbox² and BeamNG drive at a high fps (around 60-100). I upgraded my HDD to a 500G SSD and reinstalled windows 10. I installed and updated all my drivers and any windows updates that needed to be done. However all of my games now boot very quickly, but can barely run them and only gets about 5-10fps at the lowest graphics setting making gaming impossible. It also freezes randomly when downloading things. Im at a complete loss.

I have a Gigabyte AB350 Gaming Motherboard, AMD Ryzon 5 2400 CPU with Integrated Graphics, 16G of RAM.

What can i do?

A lot of things can cause a slow startup, most common would be drivers. It will take a *long* time for us to go through all the options, so i'll just list the steps i do for a fresh windows install that is problem free, you can let us know if you missed any of it.


1. Format the drive - clean windows install from DVD
2. install all drivers you can from windows update first, except video card. Make sure to install and update .Net, as modern video card drivers require that.
3. install any missing drivers (check device manager), including video card manually, with downloads from their respective websites. never install from the motherboard DVD/website unless you have to.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

You may also try installing the game in compatibility mode.
Follow these steps to install the game software in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

        Right-click on the game setup file and click on
        ‘properties’.
        
      • 
        Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
        ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
        

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to get in touch with the game manufacturer if it’s specific to that particular game.
