    UDP Ports

Windows 10 appears to be a totally control-freak operating system and I'm hating it.

I'm trying to run a TeamSpeak 3 server on my computer. It uses UDP Port 9987. I can access the port locally, through localhost or 127.0.0.1, even my internal IP... 192.168.1.116. But the instant I try to access it from the internet, it fails to connect.
Yes, the port is forwarded in my router's port forwarding. Every program that uses TCP ports works just fine. But UDP ports are being blocked by something and I can't figure out what is blocking it. So, logically, since I don't have anything but the router,
windows firewall and windows defender, it MUST be windows. I've checked for proxies between the internet and my router and there are none. So, again, logically, the only option left is Windows 10 itself.

I use to be able to use UDP ports in Windows 7 and Windows 8. It stopped when I upgraded to 8.1 and then 10 it still doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestiongs?

I have a local portforward checking application that pings a external server that then tries to connect using the specified protocol for the specified port and it works just fine on TCP 9987, but when I tell it to check UDP 9987, it immediately comes back
stating that a program is blocking the UDP 9987. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please, somebody help me get this working. I'm pulling my hair out here.

  3. Opening specific ports in Windows 10 Firewall

I have found a number of web sites discussing Firewall port opening but none giving a step by step procedure for individual port opening for windows 10. Specifically Microsoft chat people have told me to open UDP 5353; TCP 5000; UDP 6010-6012 ; TCP 7000
and TCP 7100 to permit home sharing with Apple TV. Can someone give or publish a step by step for doing this for a novice like me?

    Thanks in Advance

  4. What is a TCP and UDP Port? How to block or open them in Windows 10?

Xbox app say Nat type open but server conectivity blocked and it wont let me connect to parties because of it. how do I fix this?

Thank you for your prompt response. If you are still experiencing the same issue after performing the solutions that we have provided, there are possibilities that some settings on your network or your Firewall settings are blocking the Xbox app to connect
    online.

To check Windows Firewall settings, follow the steps provided on this link:
Turn Windows Firewall on or off
    .

We also suggest that you open ports on your router or gateway so that your network hardware can communicate with the Xbox Live servers.

    To open ports:

    • Open your web browser.
    • In the address bar, type the default IP address for your router or gateway, and then press
ENTER. Here are the default IP addresses for a few router and gateway manufacturers:
    • Belkin: 192.168.2.1
    • Linksys by Cisco: 192.168.1.1
    • D-Link: 192.168.0.1
    • NETGEAR: 192.168.0.1. or 192.168.1.1
    3. Type your username and password (for your router or gateway), and then select
    OK.

    Open the following ports:

    • Port 88 (UDP)
    • Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 80 (TCP)
    • Port 500 (UDP)
    • Port 3544 (UDP)
    • Port UDP 4500 (UDP)
    • Pick a port number between 49152 and 65535. If you don't want to pick one, just use 60209.

If you need further assistance on how to do the steps above on your router settings, we strongly recommend that you contact your Internet Service Provider to guide you.

We will appreciate if you can update us the results so if these solutions won't work, we will find another way to resolve your concern.
