  1. Windows system volume is lower after plugging in headset (system volume remains the same)

An odd problem I have been suffering for ages and cannot seem to solve.

My system volume in the bottom right is set to 50% and everything is fine.

I then plugged in my hyperX cloud 2 headset through USB. the system volume drops to its last remembered volume as intended which is 30%, No problems there.

After unplugging my headset the system volume goes back to 50% for the speakers but the volume is massively reduced. such that I have to turn it upto 100% to get to nearly the same volume level as before.

I inadvertently fixed this problem but did not find a solution as to why, I plugged in a set of Philips SHP9500 through the front panel 3.5mm jack and when i unplugged these, I got my original audio levels back, 50% sounded like 50% again.

I replugged in the hyperx headset through USB and then removed and the total system volume reduced again despite saying 50%

anyone any idea why windows is reducing the volume but still saying its at its original level when it is considerably quieter? presuming it must be something with audio through USB?

You can change the size of your pagefile in Control Panel, System, System Properties.

About the large system volume files, I've never managed to defragment mine either...

  3. Fluctuating Speaker Volume

like the overall system volume? or just the volume of the sub?

try just changing the volume within windows.
