  1. Reinstalled windows, i do not have permission on my own machine.

    Hi guys,

I had some problems with my windows and decided to reinstall it. After reinstalling it, suprisely i did not have access to my C: partition (i wanted to download some java stuff to program), everytime i tried to do something said i do not have access and need administrator rights. Checking the accounts, there was mine (administrator + password protected) and another one called Administrator (on a local account). Managed to delete Administrator or whatever but this problems keeps bothering me. Using whoami in cmd, it displays 2 users as i can see. I do not know what to do. I will attach 2 photos.

  2. No permissions

    Hi,

I would suggest you to right click on the user's folder for your profile and check if the permissions shows as "read only'. If this is the case, it might be causing the issue. In this case, I would suggest you to go to C:\User folder, right click on the
folder with your username and follow these steps:

    • Open the properties of the main user profile folder where the files are located (such as Documents, Pictures, etc).
    • Go to the Security tab and click Advanced.
    • Check the box at the bottom of this window. It is labeled "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" and then click Ok.
This does a one-time action that replaces the security on all the files/subfolders. It’s one-time, so you won’t find that box checked if you peek at it later. Try these steps and let us know the results for further assistance.

  3. Can't write to shares on a Windows 10 machine from a Windows 7 machine

I still get "You need permission to perform this action" from the Windows 7 machines if I try to write to a Windows 10 share after I made the above changes on the Windows 10 machine.

Reinstalled windows, i do not have permission on my own machine.

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Reinstalled windows, i do not have permission on my own machine. :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
