Windows 10 ignores "make this my main display" setting

I have three monitors, and recently, W10 decided to make Display #3 the main display (where the notification icons are, etc.).
When I open Display settings, Windows 10 ignores changes to the "make this my main display" setting. That is if I select the "make this my main display" for Display #1 or #2, nothing changes. The notification icons, etc., remain on Display #3 instead of #1 or #2. Currently, Display #2 shows that it is the main display, but the notification icons, etc. are still on #3. Regardless of any change I make, notification icons, etc. are still on #3, because W10 is forcing #3 to be the main display regardless of the settings.

This worked fine until about a week ago.

    :)

    PC is ignoring power settings..

Have you tried updating your display adapters? If not, kindly do so. It can be the issue is with your display adapter. To do so, follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X
    • Click Device Manager

    • Right-click Display Adapter

    • Click Properties
    • Click Driver tab
    • Click Update Driver
    • Click Search automatically for updated driver software

By then, it should update your Display driver. You can also download the driver from the manufacturer and repeat the steps provided above then choose Browse my computer for driver software.

If the settings are still not retained, we would suggest you to update your BIOS with the help of your computer's manufacturer.

Let us know how it goes.

Windows 10 ignores "make this my main display" setting

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
