    Continually Getting Sounds on Computer

Dell Inspiron 3670 desktop. I have the computer set so that screen goes off after not being used for 5 minutes, and computer sleeps after 20. I will manually put the computer to sleep, and I will get these sounds over and over. One seems to be the System Notification sound, the other the Low Battery sound. This will happen every few minutes to every 10 or so. I'm not sure which of the two sounds I am getting. Maybe both.

Can someone explain why this might be happening? I go to the monitor, and there are no notifications of any kind.

I have no idea what forum to post this in.

    Thanks.

    :)

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Continually Getting Sounds on Computer :p

    Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.

Unable to get Sound on the computer

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are unable to get sound from your computer. However, it would be great if you can help us with the details requested below:

    • When you say, “Why is it that my computer has no sound” do you see
red X on the Sound icon on the System Try (Right hand side of the
      Taskbar).
    • Do you receive any error message/code when you try to play audio on the computer?
    • Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
      Enter.
    • What is the make and model of your computer?
    • Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article

Fix sound problems in Windows 10
    and check if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.
