    I ruined Firefox with Refresh

I was having a problem with Firefox where it seemed to be loading pages very slow. Pages with lot of images on them were coming up with where the thumbnails should be and when it was trying to load them it kept giving that "Performing TLS handshake" thing in the lower left. It was just frustrating the heck out of me in general.

At one point a couple of days ago I think I saw something when Firefox was starting that said "Firefox seems to be running slow try refreshing it". But I didn't really pay attention to it then. However yesterday I had had enough of it and started looking for a fix and that "Refresh" is one of the options that came up. The description said that everything you had (bookmarks, etc) would still be ok after you run refresh. The only thing it said was that you might have to reload any extensions or addons you had. Ok no big deal I could do that.

Ran the refresh and the first thing I noticed that whatever I was using to make text bigger had been deleted. I think it was some code that had been suggested here that I had to put in the Userchrome.css folder. I tried redoing that but it didn't work. I can hit Alt on individual web pages and use "zoom text only" and increase it there but that's a lot of trouble. Plus the text in tabs, etc. is still tiny. Refresh did totally screw up my bookmarks but I did figure out how to restore them. But the small text in tabs and webpages in general is still a problem that I can't figure out how to fix.

    Firefox version is 71.0
    Windows version is 17763.914

  2. Some issues with firefox

This is not really good advice, as Firefox Refresh does not do what most people expect it to do, and leaves the users quite confused and not knowing what to do. For examples of this, go to Index page mozillaZine Forums ; there, in the Search/Boards: box, enter Refresh, then read a few of the links that provides.

My suggestion is, rather, to use the standard Fx diagnostic tests to try to isolate and fix the problem(s):
