    what does error code 403 mean and how can I fix it please?


    I tried to install Driver Update and got FORBIDDEN 403.

    The techie at Driver Update tried to remotely install it and got the same FORBIDDEN 403. He said I had a problem with Windows.

    My updates are up-to-date and I have run through all the TROUBLESHOOTERS and they find no problem.

    Can anyone tell me what to do please?

    403 Forbidden

    Hi Sam,

    The 403 Forbidden error is an HTTP status code which means that accessing the page or resource you were trying to reach is absolutely forbidden for some reason that is why you received the message
    You don't have permission to access /tigta/cgi-bin/tigcomplaint_scam.pl on this server.
    To better assist you, kindly answer the following questions:

    • Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
    • Have you tried using another browser and check if the issue still persists?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    Hi,

    403 isn't an error code you can fix locally. It's a HTTP status error that means the thing you are trying to access for some reason is "Forbidden". This is a server side issue typically. It means that the resource or folder isn't accessible for some reason.
    It might be that the permissions for the resources are wrong. A drive had been disconnected, a 2nd server is offline etc. I would recommend reporting this to the developer, other than that there isn't much else you can do for this i'm afraid.
