Windows 10: Any suggestions how to connect controller to pc?

So having a history with nothing but troubles with xbox, i made the switch to pc 2 weeks ago. Got windows 10 and recently bought a wireless adapter for windows 10 because my controller wouldnt sync to pc pc has bluetooth and uninstalled drivers and everything on trouble shoot and micro usb never stays in controller. Just disconnects the second the cord moves. Anyways, bought the adapter brand new and literally got an empty box. No cord, no adapter. Don’t know who they are hiring or what they are doing but microsoft has literally drove me to the point of insanity with the poor quality of their devices and customer service i have gotten over the years. So in conclusion, any ideas how to connect my xbox controller to my pc so i can actually play a game?

Initially, we need to pair the device to show up in the list while connected through Bluetooth. Check with the below mentioned steps and see if it works.

Comfortably PC gaming from the couch suggestions.

Well guys I would like to hear some good suggestions for comfortably PC gaming from the couch. I have searched this forum and others and I can't believe that in 2014 there is still not a good way of doing this.

So please whether your suggestion is an Xbox controller, flat portable table top, or you have pictures of a custom design.... Shoot over your suggestions. Because PC gaming comfortably from the couch is on my new years resolution list. I will find away to do it this year.

Controller Connecting to PC issues!

  Do you get any error message while connecting the controller to the PC?

  What is the make and model of the Controller?
  

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter
and check.

Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

1. Type "Troubleshooting"
in the Search box from the desktop and click "Troubleshooting".

2. Click on "View all" from the left pane and select "Hardware and Devices".

3. Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.

4. Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.
