    Win 10 upgrade error - 0x8007001F - 0x200006

I've bought Windows 10 through the Microsoft site but received an error code when trying to update from Win 7: 0x8007001F - 0x200006

I've run the update troubleshooter, which instead gave 0x80070490.

I ran the CSUR script as recommended elsewhere on this site, which provided this summary:

    Summary:
    Seconds executed: 1784

I have loads of disk space. What I don't have is any explanation of what these errors mean, or what I can do to fix them! Please can anyone help?

    :)

  2. Problem updating from 1803 to 1903 error 0x8007001F - 0x200006

    Dear,

I'm trying to update a Windows 10 version 1803 to the latest 1903.
The first time I tried I got this error:

    Win 10 upgrade error - 0x8007001F - 0x200006 [IMG]

I've searched around the internet for a couple of days now and everything I find about this error are driver issues.
But it's a virtual machine that I run on virtual box.
I downloaded the latest version of virtual box with the latest virtual box extentions.
Disabled the audio checkbox because I found a lot of thing regarding audio drivers.
Set the USB support from 3.0 to 2.0 just to try different things.

    Then I found this page.
    Followed every step on it.
The I ran the Windows 10 update assistant again and ran in to the same problems.

I first get a meggage that Windows is preparing the update:

    Win 10 upgrade error - 0x8007001F - 0x200006 [IMG]

When the update is ready I reboot the VM:

    Win 10 upgrade error - 0x8007001F - 0x200006 [IMG]

The I get the following screen that Windows is executing the update:

    Win 10 upgrade error - 0x8007001F - 0x200006 [IMG]

10 seconds later my VM reboots and starts reverting the changes.
I already uninstalled the AV and tried it again ==> same result.
    It just wont update.

What I noticed the last couple of days is the following:

    Win 10 upgrade error - 0x8007001F - 0x200006 [IMG]

    This update won't install.
Tried downloading it and executing it manually but it won't install.

I got backups of the vm but only 1 month in the past but the problem must be going on longer then 1 month.
Reinstalling is not an option since on this PC there is registration software from another company and it would cost a lot of money to reinstall that.
the complete version is Windows 10 pro build 17134.112

Anyone got and idea on how to fix this?

    Kind regards

    Upgrade Windows 7 to 10 Error 0x8007001f

    Win 10 upgrade error - 0x8007001F - 0x200006 [IMG]

The partition layout of disk 0 (shown as disk 1 in Partition Manager) is non standard and was customized by the manufacturer. A normal Win 7 installation will have a layout:
    1. 100MB System Reserved, NTFS format and marked as Active
    2. C drive.
A normal Windows 10 installation will have:
    1. 550MB Reserved partition, NTFS format and marked as Active
    2. C drive.
Since you know how to use Minitool Partition Manager. Suggest to use it:
    1. Create a bootable installation USB from the Windows ISO using: Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way
    2. Delete the 1st 2 partitions (102MB, 15GB) then create a 550MB partition, format as NTFS, label "System Reserved", assign a letter R, mark as Active
    3. Move C drive next to the newly created 550MB. should look like the screen shot below, note H: drive should be C: in your case:

      Win 10 upgrade error - 0x8007001F - 0x200006 [IMG]
    4. Boot up the USB created in step 1, on the first screen, press SHIFT+F10 to open the Admin command prompt then type:
bcdboot C:\Windows /s R: /f BIOS =====> This will create the BCD to boot Windows and store in R: (550MB partition)
    5. Reboot the PC then try to upgrade again
NOTE: It is advisable to create a backup image of the whole disk 0, just in case anything goes wrong then you can restore back before making any modification.
To create a backup image Use:
    Macrium Reflect Free Edition x64
    Macrium Reflect Free Edition x86

    Win 10 upgrade error - 0x8007001F - 0x200006

    Win 7 to 10 0x8007001F upgrade error

I have user that I've attempted to upgrade to Windows 10 but it failed with error0x8007001F. To date, I've upgraded at least 200 machines and counting using the same steps and haven't had a problem. All of them are Dell Optiplex models that support Windows 10. Steps I've taken so far are :

    CHKDSK C: /F
Remove and re-install audio driver (suggested by Googling)
    ESET Antivirus removed
also tried running as local admin account but no luck

I did notice that he has a strange empty E: partition that was created when I used AOMEI Backupper to clone him to SSD a while back. There seems to be nothing on the E:\ but it appears as a primary partition. Can I use partition software to remove it safely? It's the only thing that stands out to that would be different from all the other computers. Any ideas? Any logs I can check for details as to what may have caused the upgrade to fail?

    - - - Updated - - -

AOMEI got back to me and it looks like that E: is safe to remove as that PC is still MBR

"Apologies for the inconvenience caused to you.According to the screenshot, it seems that the E drive was an EFI partition from your source PC, it is a very important partition for a bootable UEFI system.
and normally it is a hidden partition on the windows system.
but during the cloning process, this EFI partition lost its job as your target disk is MBR type, the role of EFI is replaced by System reserved partition( in your case, it is the RECOVERY partition) or just the C partition.

AOMEI Backupper fails to recognize it too after the clone ( it is a bug), so it reveals its hidden property, and assign a drive letter for it.
Based on your case, you can just delete it, or unhide it by deleting the drive letter under Disk Management."
