Windows 10: What is wrong with MSN and 0x800706d9 error, cannot update calendar or "connect?"

Windows and Microsoft's way of doing things are really starting to get to me, especially this stupid 0x800706d9 error, something to do with the firewall. I'm logged on to Microsoft through the account I've had for years now, but when I go to sync Microsoft Calendar, it gives me this error and says "Please try again later." I deleted the account from the calendar hoping that would work, and now all the data from my calendar is gone, but I know it's backed up on Outlook. When I try to sync the calendar with my microsoft account, I get this error, yet I am logged on already with my MS account and updates and everything else. When I go to the windows logo, settings, email and accounts, it does the same thing: the same error 0x80076d9. WHY??????????


aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!


I am tempted to just wipe everything out and start over. I am already infuriated I lost all my data on my calendar, since there was no other way for me to get it back like with Vista, it was just a text file that I could reinstall or copy over, but now I can't do that. All my records on my calendar are gone, and I am so infuriated I am about to give up on Microsoft for good and just switch to apple.


I can't tell you how many hours I've wasted trying to find solutions to Microsoft problems that keep cropping up, ever since the 1990's and Windows 1.0.


So, how come my calendar program won't let me sign in or recognize my outlook account I'm already signed into??????

Just so you know, my OS is windows 10, version 1903, build 18362.476, 11/5/2019.

I have the same problem and your after trying your suggestions I am still in the same situation. None of my email accounts are listed in my windows 10 mail tile, the sync option is blanked out and when I try to add any of my email accounts: either gmail
or outlook I receive the error message 0x800706d9. Any help would be appreciated.

A few weeks ago I noticed that my Mail tile was not updating. I wasn't paying much attention to this, because sync usually worked with a bit of delay, but later I realised that all my connected e-mail accounts disappeared from apps, although all content
(old emails and calendar events) were still shown, just not syncing. Every time it tried to re-add my accounts, I received an error saying:

"Something went wrong. We are sorry, but we weren't able to do that. Error code: 0x800706d9"



Microsoft's technician removed apps with PowerShell and re-installed them. Now my apps look like the first time you open them, and I still cannot connect my Outlook and Gmail account with app. I am still getting the same error message.
