"Login with MS Account instead of .." Pin or Local login Failed what now?

I want to make use of the syncing across devices and to do that I need to log into Windows with my MS Account. I can log into MS account just fine but when it logs me in it asks for password one more time, and this fails to accept any known password to me and will not accept the pin code in its place. I am stumped. I have been on the phone and chat with MS last couple of hours and the rep disconnected the call and the remote session while she put me on hold. I called back and they say they will call me back in 14 hours. ****?"Login with MS Account instead of .." Pin or Local login Failed what now? [IMG]

Again this is not my ms account password past of present nor is it the pin. I never set any password for a local password

    :)

Login screen presents both local and MS account sign in

I set up a new tablet with windows 10 and began with a Local account so I could choose my user name. Then I signed in with my MS account to sync settings.

When I start the tablet the login screen asks for my pin. I want to be able to automatically login without entering a pin or password. To do that I use netplwiz and uncheck the option to require a password for login. So far so good.

But when the tablet restarts I am presented with a login screen that now shows two accounts, my MS account and what appears to be a local account but with the same name. If I then reverse the process and enable the "require a password" option in netplwiz there is only one account shown on the login screen but then I have to use a pin or password.

How do I remove that second local account on the login screen and then login automatically? There is only one account listed in the user account settings page.

  3. OSK PIN login on non-touch device

    Hello,

I suggest you to create a PIN for your device and try the on screen keyboard to login to the same.

You may follow the steps below to create PIN protection for your device.

    • Go to Settings and select account.

    • Click on sign in option and Go to PIN option.

    • Now click on Add and set PIN for login.

You can use the same PIN to login to your device using the on screen Keyboard from ease of access option and verify the result.

Please get back to us with updated status. We will be happy to assist you further.

    Pin for login

    Give this a try:

Delete NGC folder and add a new PIN code

    Go to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC.

In NGC folder delete all the files. To do so you must be logged as Administrator.

Now go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options.

Click Add a PIN and add a new PIN code for your account.

Now the PIN login should be working again.

Switch to local account and add a PIN code

    Option 2:

try to switch to local account, and the add a PIN code. Here’s how to do that:

Go to Settings > Accounts and locate your account.

Click Sign in with a Local Account instead.

Follow the instructions to set up a local account.

Sign out and sign in with your local account.

    Now add a PIN code.

After you’ve added your PIN code you need to locate your account under the Accounts section in Settings.

Choose Sign in with a Microsoft Account instead.

That’s it, PIN login should be working now for your account
