Windows 10: Headphones only playing out on one side only when 2 usb mice are plugged in and you speak...

Hi all,

I just wanted to come on here for a bit of help with something.


I have 2 USB microphones that I plug into a mini mixer that goes into my laptop. When I go to speak into them, they both work fine, but when I listen back on my headphones, the microphone audio only comes out of one side. I can hear the laptop audio fine but it’s just the microphone side of it when I play it back on my headphones, only one side works.

To put it short, when I plug in 2 microphones and one set of headphones, only one side works.


Is there anything I can do to solve this?Preferably without changing any laptop parts

Speakers playing when headphones are plugged in


I have an HP laptop with windows 10. When my headphones are plugged in, the speakers are still playing. When I go to sounds, the only device listed is the speakers. How can I silence the speakers when the headphones are plugged in.

Is the issue specific to only Headphones/ Does External Speaker play when plugged in?

I suggest you to try resetting the default device as shown in the steps given below and check if the issue persists.

  Plug in the Headphones in the machine.
  
• 
  Go to Start and Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select 'Hardware and Sound'.
  
• 
  Click 'Change system sounds'.
  
• 
  Click 'Playback' tab. (It should then show you your headphones in the list).
  
• 
  Select your proper Headphone device from the list, then Click 'Set Default'.
  
• 
  Now unplug your Headphones and select speakers from the list, then Click 'Set Default'.

Unless they are USB, there wouldn't be any. Need to see what is used for sound chip. Raeltek for instance.
