  1. PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE ?

From FIRST INSTALLTION of any particular version of Windows, or other amenable operating system, use AOMEI Partition Assistant to copy the Partition, or Migrate the Operating System, to another drive. If, at some future occasion, your system acquires mysterious problems that no-one seems to have an easy answer to then you can swap out the drives to get back to a problem free computer; except of course you will be obliged to dowload all the updates accrued since you made the copy. It sounds a bit laborious but as effective a cure as any, if you're not just "plumb outa luck".

It can be advantageous to make a boot CD of AOMEI PA, but you will require to install Windows AIK temporarily for the purpose - that may not be necessary for later versions of the program, but I can't comment on that as the one I made is an early - version 5. If you are Migrating your operating system then Partition Manager requires to reboot into PRE-OS mode first; sometimes, as I've experienced at least, there are problems getting it to work in that mode. If you boot up the computer to the prepared CD then those problems are avoided.

I have more computers on the go than commonsense demands, that are organised to boot from at least 2 separate operating systems; since I occasionally use programs that are compatible only with Windows XP or Windows 7. It is easy enough to make copies of these multiple partitions, even resize them if things get cramped, or if you've overdone the resources.

One tip, if you need it: always install the "Earlier Version of Windows" first so that the newer versions recognise their existence and give you the option to boot to them. As far as I'm aware it is complicated, if not impossible, to do it the other way around.

    :)

  2. Preventing access to modern app

Ive been tasked with preventing the children from accessing instagram. I've got it listed in my windows hosts file and internet options/security/restricted site but the windows 10 app is still allowing access. Any suggestions other then deleting app which can just be reinstalled?
