    Hello,

I purchased a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 4 Months back at a BestBuy near me. I started to notice the Keyboard and mouse does not work and I went to best buy to return this product, they said that since this product is over 15 Days of purchase time it would need to be claimed under Manufacturer's warranty which what I am trying to do .. It has been over 60 Minutes I have been transferred from billing to Sales and when actually some one picks up after 30 mins the call hangs up and I do get a call back once but that call also ended up getting hung up.

I followed the below article in the community and followed the link that was provided in the article which after a long questionnaire ended up saying I need to call 800 624 7676 which what I been doing in the first place.

Please help me get to the right department and get the appropriate support from Microsoft.

    Thanks,

    Sai Charan

    :)

What do I need to do to file a manufacture warranty claim for a Microsoft product?

So I bought a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse in January. After 8 months its stop working on me. I know there is a 1 year manufacturer warranty, so how exactly do I claim it. Nowhere on the website it allows me to do so.

    I called Microsoft customer support,

the 1st time, they put me on hold for 45 minutes, I just end up hanging up.

the 2nd time, they say they will transfer me to the department that can help me with that, they end up hanging up on me, some transfer...

the 3rd time, the lady told me to go back to the electronic store I bought it from, which is Frys Electronic, a Microsoft authorizes seller. First off it's past the 30 day return period, secondly its a "MANUFACTURE WARRANTY" not "RETAIL WARRANTY". The lady
then told me that the Microsoft manufacture warranty only apply to item bought at the Microsoft online store and Microsoft window store. WHAT?! I told her that frys electronic is a Microsoft authorized seller, does that mean that Microsoft warranty doesn't
cover on product sold by their authorized partner seller? she frozed and then told me that she will transfer me to the department that can help me. she ends up on hanging up on me.

So apparently, when they say they will "transfer you to the department that can help" it mean they will hang up on you.

So is Microsoft manufacture warranty just a fake warranty? I know I am making a big deal out of a $69 mouse. BUT!! I'm curious, if it's like this for a $69 mouse, what is it like with a thousand dollar surface laptop?

  3. EVGA GTX 2xx series Reinbursement Service

XFX started it and Evga is doing the same. Evga is starting its own reinbursement program for those who bought the Evga 2xx series when they first came out. All you have to do is follow a few steps.

    • Must be a new purchase from an authorized EVGA reseller. Step-ups do not qualify.
    • You have 14 days to register and upload a qualified invoice to claim your EVGA Bucks.
    • Only customers who purhased the EVGA GTX 280 or GTX 260 at the full Manufactured Suggested Reatil Price (MSRP) will qualify for the Reimbursement Program.
    • If between June 16th and July 7th you purchased an:
    • EVGA GTX 260 you will receive $75.00 in EVGA Bucks* or $60.00 Cash Back
    • EVGA GTX 280 you will receive $150.00 in EVGA Bucks* or $125.00 Cash Back
The only thing this doesn't cover is the Step-up program. I'm fine with that because I got the price cut anyway. I just hope to get the card by this weekend if not early next week. I have a itch to bench. *Rockout :rockout:

Toshiba Acquires WD HDD Manufacturing Equipment and Transfer of HDD Manufacturing

Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO:6502) today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with Western Digital Corporation (NYSE: WDC) on Toshiba's acquisition of certain of Western Digital's 3.5-inch HDD manufacturing equipment and related intellectual property, and the transfer to Western Digital of Toshiba Storage Device (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (TSDT), Toshiba's wholly-owned HDD manufacturing subsidiary located in Thailand.

Toshiba and Western Digital aim to complete the acquisition and transfer by March of this year after obtaining approval from the relevant authorities. Under the agreement, Toshiba will acquire the following equipment and intellectual property from Western Digital.
    • Manufacturing equipment for 3.5-inch HDDs for use in desktop PCs and other consumer applications, plus related intellectual property; and
    • Manufacturing equipment for near-line HDDs for server applications.
Toshiba also has agreed to transfer to Western Digital its entire shareholding in TSDT.
Toshiba's acquisition of assets from Western Digital and the transfer of TSDT to Western Digital are subject to Western Digital's completion of its pending acquisition of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies and regulatory approvals from the relevant antitrust authorities.

The global market for HDD and other storage devices is expected to see sustained demand growth, driven by the continued diversification of devices requiring storage, including PCs, tablets and smartphones, and the explosive increase in data storage and archiving that will accompany cloud computing.

Toshiba acquired Fujitsu Limited's HDD business in 2009, expanding its product portfolio of small form factor HDDs for mobile applications with Fujitsu's enterprise HDDs. Since then, the company has developed a line-up of storage products for enterprise applications. More recently, in July 2011 Toshiba unified the Semiconductor Company and the Storage Products Company, covering NAND flash memories, SSDs and HDDs, and is now positioned to carry out coordinated sales promotions to a wide range of customers.

The purchase of part of Western Digital's 3.5-inch HDD manufacturing equipment and with it the capability to produce 3.5-inch HDDs for desktop PCs, DVR and other consumer applications, will expand Toshiba's portfolio and enable the company to supply products covering all segments of the HDD market. It will also expand Toshiba's supply capacity in the market for near-line HDDs, which is expected to expand with the continuing growth of the server market, further reinforcing a strategic segment of the company's HDD business.

Toshiba will transfer the shares of TSDT to Western Digital and consolidate HDD production at its two HDD manufacturing facilities in the Philippines and a contract manufacturer in China. A key goal is to further enhance cost competitiveness by boosting manufacturing efficiency.

Following the reinforcement of its HDD businesses through this re-organization, Toshiba aims to establish itself as the leading provider of integrated storage solutions–the company that has all three key storage solutions: NAND flash, SSD and HDD.
