Windows 10: BSOD due to netadaptercx.sys after waking the PC from Sleep

Every once in a while when my computer wakes from sleep it experiences a BSOD and restarts. This doesn't happen every time, but it's been happening for a few months now so it's quite annoying. I've installed all the latest windows 10 updates and video card driver, but it never helps.


The bsod message is usually:

stop code: system_thread_exception_not_handled

what failed: netadaptercx.sys

BSOD after pc wakes up from sleep


All done. FYI already had latest intel drivers. Updated the bios.



After all this tested out sleep and wake up and no bsod. Hooked the controller back again, put the pc to sleep and woke it up after a few minutes and bam there is the bsod again. Tried just unhooking the controller and made pc sleep and woke up again and got bsod. So removed the xbox360 driver completely. Tested out again and no bsod this time. Seems like its the xusb22.sys that is causing this. Will put pc to sleep again tonight and test to see if I get bsod again tomorrow.

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

• Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the command line below:

Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.
