Windows 10: windows 10 pro Lost admin authority

I have recently ordered a Lenovo laptop with a pre-installed windows 10 pro. However I have suddenly lost admin authority. The update elevation screen only shows the NO and no YES.


Also I cannot go into safe mode because BitLocker password is required and I do not have that. However I can go to cmd prompt from the recovery. Can I do anything from this cmd prompt to reset the admin authority.


Also when I power on the pc I do not get the userid password screen just the password screen for the local user

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 No longer have a profile with admin authority

Here you go:

• Turn the machine on.
• Wait until the spinning circle appears.
• Turn the machine off.
• Repeat Steps 1 . . 3 two more times.
• Walk through the menus that appear until you find System Restore.
• Restore Windows to a date before you changed things.
• Plan ahead and create, test and document a spare admin account. Having a single admin account is risky, as you just found out.
