Windows 10: Win 10 Pro Updates Failed Error 0x80242fff

Hi, where i try to update my windows i got an error





What can i do?

I`m tried to download and run the Windows Update troubleshooter and its not detect any problem...

updates failing with 0x80242fff on Win 10 64bit

Moved to ssd from disk drive, installed windows 7 pro, updated to SP1, then upgraded to Win 10. All seemed well for the first few updates, but now it says that it cannot install KB3074678, KB3074686, KB3081449, KB3081452 - Error 0x80242fff. Ran WindowsUpdateDiagnostic,
it ran through and found registry errors on and off. no help. What now?

Hi Nyima - thank you for your suggestions. Here are the results.

Step1 - Metered connection set to off:

Failed - error code 0x80242fff

Step2 - Proxy settings. Only automatically detect settings was "on" - set to "off":

Step3 - Synchronize with the internet time zone - re-synchronised with server time.windows.com:

Failed - error code 0x80242fff

I believe the download of the update file is completing successfully and it is the installation process that is failing. The reason I think this is -

1. When clicking "check for updates" and finding the update in question, I can see the download progress bar get to 100%.

2. Today I had the case where the download had already taken place and was waiting for me to click the "Install Now" button. When I clicked the button, that was the point I got the update failed with error code 0x80242fff message.

I also have MS office installed, those updates are being detected and auto installed successfully. The same is true of the apps I have installed. I therefore think this may be a specific problem with the installation of this particular Windows 10 update.

Just for info - the version of Adobe Flash player that is installed is 22.0.0.192
