  1. Janurary 2020 update causing major issues

After an update mid January my display started screwing up. I run a 165hz monitor and I never use to drop a single frame. After the update, when I loaded into a game the frame rates were dropping as low as 20 and for some reason my games resolution also changed to 1080p instead of the 1440p that my monitor is set to. Also when I load into some games, they decide to minimize on their own randomly. I tried to run a restore point from December to correct the issue. Instead I got the "blue screen of death" and there was NOTHING I could do to fix it except reinstall windows through a boot drive. I decided to delete all my files and start fresh. I updated windows and installed 1 game and all the same stuff is happening. What am I supposed to do now? I cant reload a restore point, because I already did a factory reset! I cant even revert my updates because its the only one installed! How do I fix this mess? I took my computer to a shop and paid $70 just to make sure it wasn't my hardware too! Please help...

    :)

Windows 10 update: start up and sleep issues caused

    Dear Vijay,

Thank you for your response: apologies for slow feedback.

Regarding step 1 - doing a restore point : I tried this twice and twice it failed. Now, the date of the update that caused the issue (13/14 September 2019) has disappeared from the history list. Is there a way of finding it, still?

Regarding Step 2- the list of updates installed: the two suggestions above do not seem to appear in the list in the window "Installed Updates".

There are two updates listed for 13 September - Security Update for Adobe Flash Player and Security Update for Microsoft Windows.

Could you advise what I might try next?

    Thank you so much.
