    My touch screen hasn't worked and every google solution leads me to another issue.


    I have a toshiba satelite. I have tried various routes to fix my touch screen issue but with every solution I think I've found there has been another problem.



    I ultimately decided my issue was that my HID Compliant Touch Screen Driver was missing. To get it back, almost every site suggests I troubleshoot hardware and devices. I literally do not have a hardware and devices option whenever I go to my troubleshoot settings. I see where it should be, but it is not there.

    I am not even certain that this is my issue, but I have not had a working touch screen on my laptop for about 2 years now and I have been down many rabbitholes trying to fix it myself. I am obviously not super tech savvy or I would have figured it out by now.

    Were you able to see if your driver is up to date?

    We suggest to update the touch screen driver and check for resolution.

    Follow the steps provided:

    • Press Windows key and X on your desktop and click on Device Manager.
    • Expand Human Interface Devices.
    • Locate the Touch screen driver.
    • Right-click on the driver icon and click on Update Driver Software.
    • Click on Search automatically for the updated driver software.
    • Follow the onscreen instructions to update the touch screen driver.

    We sure can provide some troubleshooting steps before you decide to get help from your laptop's manufacturer. Please follow the suggested solutions below:

    Method 1: Check if the touch screen driver is enabled.

    • In the Search bar, type Device Manager.
    • Locate Human Interface Devices and look for touch screen.
    • Right-click touch screen and check if it is enabled. If not, please enable it.
    Method 2: Reinstall the touch screen driver.

    • In Device Manager, go to Human Interface Devices.
    • Locate touch screen again and right-click it to Uninstall
      the driver.
    • Restart your PC to automatically install the driver.

    Same thing, touch screen doesn't work google chrome is functional however. touchscreen works on edge and firefox browser.
