Windows 10: Kindle will not mount in Win 10

Discus and support Kindle will not mount in Win 10 in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I have spent almost 2 weeks applying suggested fixes to make Win 10 mount my Kindle Paperwhite as a drive, so far nothing works - but I now have...     I have spent almost 2 weeks applying suggested fixes to make Win 10 mount my Kindle Paperwhite as a drive, so far nothing works - but I now have further information which might help...


    My first post was this:

    My Kindle 32GB e-reader does not appear as a drive in Win 10 when plugged in via USB, so I cannot transfer files to it from my local library. Likewise it does not appear in Calibre. However I can see it using the Win 10 disk management app, where it appears as a drive with unallocated space of around 28 GB.


    I have tried all the fixes I can find online, plugging in through different USB ports, using different cables, different computers, even a ubuntu machine. My software and drivers are up to date on both Win 10 and the Kindle. The Kindle will reset and update when rebooted via Wi-Fi, but I still can't see it as a drive in Explorer or a device in Calibre or the Kindle app.... Although it otherwise seems to be working fine - I can connect to the Amazon store ok - and Windows always knows it is there as it is listed as online by the disk management app



    Since then I have factory resert and rebooted to no avail, but Windows and Calibre CAN see the Kindle - just not use it!. This the debug from Calibre - it is detecting the device but unable to access the storage:

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

    • Is this issue confined only with kindle app?
    • Are you able to read the notebooks in other apps?
    If this issue is only with kindle app then I suggest you to contact the kindle support for further assistance.

    Off topic: I really enjoy my Kindle Paperwhite. Well supported by Amazon imo.

    I hope Win 10 is ready for release next year when I plan to do a Cannonlake build. *Smile Kindle will not mount in Win 10 :) Until then it's Win 7 for me.

    • From where have you downloaded this app?
    • What is the exact issue you are facing with Kindle?

    If you have downloaded if from Windows Store, I suggest you to try the below and check if it helps.

    Steps:

    • Press Windows key from the keyboard and click on Settings.
    • Click on System and on Apps and Features.
    • Locate for the Kindle app, click on it and click on
      Uninstall
      .
