  1. 'Do Nothing' Option in Power mode not working properly

When users have an external monitor plugged in and close the lid the laptop goes to sleep. I have already selected for the laptop to 'Do Nothing' on battery and mains power when the lid is closed.

If I then go back into power modes, switch each from 'Do Nothing to something else, then back to 'Do Nothing' and save the changes it works properly again. I believe it is a windows 10 update that has broken this but wondering if anyone has any more info on this or is seeing the same issue? Or if they have a fix for the issue.

I have seen this across 3 seperate laptops on Windows 10. All the laptops are Dell Latitude with a Dell dock and monitors vary

    :)

  2. sleep mode and power options not working on Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Forums.

For issues with sleep mode and power options follow the steps provided below.

Run the Power troubleshooter and check.

Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

    • Open Control Panel.
    • Type Troubleshooting in search and click
      Troubleshooting.
    • Now type Power in the search option.
    • Click on Power troubleshooter to run.

I would suggest you to try updating the Display driver and check if the issue persists. If you already have all the latest drivers from Windows updates, then I would suggest you to visit the computer manufacturer's website, download and install the latest
drivers in compatibility mode and check.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Power Options don't work.

Do Sleep and Hibernate work from the Power shortcuts just above the Start button in Start Menu?

    Work through the steps in
    Sleep Mode Problems
to test with short timeouts after each step or two. As I said earlier, this has always worked for me and rarely do I need to work through the entire list.
