Windows 10: how can i connect my pc to tv through Chromecast without opening chrome browser?

i can connect while opening chrome browser but i want to mirror screen while playing games but Chromecast seems to require chrome to be opened all the time to mirror

Casting Photos to TV via Chromecast

I'm afraid that I don't understand your instructions. Chromecast is connected to TV and TV and Chromecast are ON. I don't know what is meant by "Expand the Google Chromecast extension icon, so here's what I did.

1. Opened Chrome on PC.

2. Turned on TV and ensured Chromecast dongle is ON.

3. Set TV input source to Chromecast. Chromecast screen is displayed on TV.

4. Clicked on the orange icon at top right of Chrome screen, then clicked on the Cast selection.

5. Got the cast tab showing the TV, but nothing about a Cast screen/window option.

6. Gave up.

7. Started Chromecast app on PC. Shows TV as connected, but got nowhere regarding the Cast screen/window option there either.

I must be doing something wrong. Please provide additional instructions.

 

How to Connect to Chromecast?

I have an older Smart TV (Hisense) to which my Chromecast is connected through the HDMI port. All three devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network bandwidth 2.4GHZ. When I search for devices my TV shows up but not my Chromecast. The only way I have
found to connect to the Chromecast is when I open Netflix and/or Hulu website on Google Chrome browser because of the Google Cast extension. When I open the apps on my laptop it does not give me the option to cast. Hopefully you can help it would be greatly
appreciated.

 

Win10 PC won't pair to chromecast

The Chromecast is not a Bluetooth device, so it doesn't need to be paired.

1- Plug the Chromecast into your TV.

2- On your Chrome browser, go to www.chromecast.com/setup.

3- Connect the Chromecast to your Wi-Fi network.

Now you can Cast from Cast-enabled apps. You can also Cast tabs on the Chrome browser.
