Windows 10: Screen saver shuffle mode algorithm is biased

When I use the shuffle pictures button on screen saver photos I am using windows 10 pro, version: 1903, OS: 18362.592 thealgorithm is biased and mainly keeps shuffling pictures from the first few folders instead of randomly using any pictures. Once I let it ran for two days straight yet it showed only pictures from the first few folders.

Is there a way for developers to improve the algorithm so it uses all the pictures/folders under the selected folder?

Have you checked the Shuffle option in Screen saver settings? If you haven't, please follow these steps:

• Press Windows key, type Change screen saver
  and hit Enter.
• Click on Settings, next to Photos.
• Put a check mark next to shuffle pictures and click on
  Save.
• Click Apply and OK to save the settings.

Shuffle Screen Saver pictures

I would like to let you know that the screen saver will shuffle the pictures randomly. I suggest you to add more pictures in the default pictures folder so that you don't see the same pictures often.

Screen saver slideshow for Windows 10

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if this helps:

• Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking on the start button and entering
  Screen saver in the search box.
• Under Screen saver, tap or click
  Photos.
• To change one or more of the screen saver settings, tap or click
  Settings, and then do one or more of the following:
  
• To change the speed of the slide show, tap or click the list next to
  Slide show speed(it will give three options Slow, Medium and Fast) select accordingly.
• If you want the photos to appear in a random order, select the
  Shuffle pictures check box.
• Tap or click Save to save the setting changes you made. Then tap or click
  OK in the Screen Saver Settings
  dialog box.
