  1. Auto Snap/Resizing is Driving Me Nuts!

I work from home full time using an IBM Thinkpad desktop that uses Windows10. As part of my job, I need to frequently use Google Chrome, as well as Excel and Outlook. So, I need to have mutiple programs open and visible at the same time. I like to reduce the size of my browser so that I can enter data in Excel, or Outlook.

Starting after my most recent update, whenever I click into the gray area at the top of Chrome it automatically snaps/maximizes the window. This is super annoying. It doesn't matter if I click and hold or if I click one time. I am usually trying to drag/relocate Chrome. This happens in other applications as well, such as the MS Office suite.

I double checked settings> System> Multitasking> "when I snap a window, automatically size it to fill available space." This was already turned off. So, I am thinking that after my last windows update, I can no longer disable snapping window sizes. This is super annoying.

Has anybody experienced or been able to solve this issue? Thanks for your help!

How to disable Windows 10 window resize behavior after snapping?

I like Windows' snapping features, for the most part. I have trouble with one aspect of the feature, which resizes a window back to its previous size after snapping, if you move the window. I would rather keep the window at the snapped size.

Follow these steps to see what I mean:

    1. Open a new window
      • Note the size of the window at this point
    2. Snap it to the side of the screen (Win + LeftArrow)
    3. Resize the window to be shorter
    4. Move the window to another spot

You will observe after step 4 that the window returns to the size it was in step 1. Windows remembers that size and recalls it when you move the window. Is there a way to have Windows keep the size I set via snap/resize instead of the previous size?
