  1. I need to update my computer, but I've heard news of bugs that could cause boot failures.

    Hello,

I have a desktop computer Which I've been using since 2013 which has Windows 10 1903 and runs well and I have a laptop computer which I've been using since Sep 2018 with Windows 10 1909. The reason I haven't updated my desktop computer to Version 1909 is because I wanted to make sure it wasn't buggy, but I upgraded to it on my laptop and my laptop is working well from having it.

However, I need to update my desktop computer to Version 1909 to see if the "wsappx" will stop causing my computer to lag and slow down. On both computers, I paused the updates for 2 weeks until tomorrow since I paused them 2 weeks ago because I read news that there is a bug in a security patch and that some users either had computers that failed to boot or that got the BSOD 2 minutes after booting and the security patch is in Windows Update on both computers, so I paused it for another week until 2/2/2020. I really want to update my computer for 1909, but I'm afraid the bug will cause boot issues and I would also like to update my laptop with some new patches, but only if there are boot or BSOD issues.

Please help me and respond as to whether there is a way I can get the updates before upgrading to Version 1909 without having to reinstall Windows? I have precious files on my desktop computer and I need to use my laptop for college. I don't want to have the need to spend my time and energy reinstalling Windows.

When will the patch not be buggy for my computer to have boot issues?

    :)

    Confusing Disk Boot Failure

Well, Brand new Harddrive the western digital se16 caviar 640. Had a clean install, and while installing drivers and programs after a couple restarts I am receiving disk boot failure. Not the first restart or the second. Each time that it has given me the failure was after installing updates. I've system restored to before installing the updates and it works fine. It's a large list of around 38 or so updates. Granted may be a fluke but anyone heard of this?

  3. After update computer boots to Bios screen

    Hi Denise,

Automatic restart after an update may be caused by a hardware failure. As our initial troubleshooting step, we suggest that you follow these steps:

    • Press Windows and type "view advanced system settings".
    • Select View advanced system settings.
    • Under the Startup and Recovery section, click
      Settings.
    • Under System Failure, remove the check mark next to
      Automatically restart
      and click OK.
    • Restart your computer.

Get back to us with the status of the issue.

    Confusing Disk Boot Failure

I've had this happen to me when I was installing stuff on my board.. Go, update by update and install them.. don't go and let Vista just download and install. That way you can find the problem update, and make it to where you don't use the updater to do it... A lot of times it has to do with Nvidia...
