    Windows Update disables my mouse

On Jan 18th, 2020 an automatic Windows 10 update created a problem for both my touch pad and USB connected mice same problem for both. After starting my computer, both mice work for awhile, then become unresponsive and a manual undesirable shutdown must be performed. I have rolled back the update twice now, which solves the problem, but now the update is getting ready to reinstall again. Apparently you can pause updates, but eventually you must let them happen. I don't know what to do. This makes my computer less than a year old, Lenovo unusable. This is the update causing the mouse problem: 2020-KB4535101 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.7.2 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 1809 andWindowsServer 2019. Are others having this problem? If so, do you have a solution?

    :)

  3. After Windows 10 update, can no longer disable touchpad. Please help

    Hi Feisty

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community, we appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

I understand your concern about disabling the touchpad after Windows Update, do let us know the following to assist you better:

    • Are you referring to November Update?
    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • Do you have any issues with functionality of Touchpad?
    • Where exactly were you trying to search for disable option?

This issue might have happened because of corrupted/ outdated touchpad drivers after the update.

If you are unable to access touchpad, I suggest you to connect an external mouse to try the below.

Step 1: Follow the below steps for search for the disable option and try to turn if off.

    • Press Windows + X keys from the keyboard and click on
      Control Panel.

    • Click on Mouse.

    • On the Device Settings tab of the
Mouse Properties screen, click the Disable button to turn off the Touchpad.

    • Restart the system and check.

Step 2: Update the Touchpad drivers.

    • Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
    • Right click on each of the drivers and click on Update driver software.
Also, try to search for the drivers from Manufacturer's website and try to install the drivers.

Hope it helps. Reply to the post with an updated status of this issue for further assistance.

  4. Windows Update disables my mouse

Taskbar bug: switching to another window -will not appear at the front

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

    Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

    1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
    2. Select or click Ease of Access.
    3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
    4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
    5. Check if issue is resolved.
    Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

    1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
    2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
    3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
    4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
    5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.
