  1. Background Internet activity causes Windows 10 to Freeze

Since The 12/10 Windows 10 update, I cannot use Microsoft Office for more than 10 minutes while connected to the Internet as the full machine eventually freezes. If I disconnect from the Internet, I can use Microsoft Excel or Word for hours without any performance issues. When I connect to the Internet, the problem eventually returns. I can wait for whatever is happening to finish's but it can take up to 30 minutes and while some things can be done, the performance is so slow the PC needs to be restarted. Similarly, I can work on the computer in any browser without any issues as long as I don't open up Excel or Word. The same behavior happens whether there is a wired or wireless connection. I was on Office 2010, but the same behavior occurs after I upgraded to Office 2019.

Is there a diagnostic utility I can use to determine what program is running in the background that is causing this to freeze? I have already removed or disabled half a dozen programs in hopes of finding what is the cause, but have not been successful. Thank you.

    :)

DOWNLOAD WINDOWS 10 NOW - Upgrade and ISO direct from microsoft

Click to expand... Yeah I went to that site, why do I need to buy a key?
    I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
    is that causing the problem?

    Windows 10 Activation

    Hi,

The error code 0x80072F8F usually means that the system settings is not properly set up. Since the Internet connection and the date and time is properly set up, we suggest running the Activation troubleshooter to further analyze what's causing
    the issue.

Kindly follow the steps below to use the troubleshooter:

    • Open Settings.
    • Choose Update & security.
    • Click Activation , and then select Troubleshoot.
    • Wait for the troubleshooter to detect the issue and it will provide the appropriate fix for it.

Additionally, we suggest checking this article: Activation in Windows 10.
Kindly check the Activating after reinstalling Windows 10
tab for more information about the issue.

Update us with the outcome so we can provide further assistance.
