  1. HDD damages by ram.

Hello all, I recently damaged my girlfriends HDD containing her Win10 pro with a bunch of Office goodies for school. I’ve been attempting several ways to fix the HDD on my PC with no avail.

I’ve tried using Windows recovery environment, doesn’t help. I just end up in a circle or “chose which OS to boot from 1) windows recovery 2)W10 3)W10pro (both windows10 are mine because it’s my PC I’m attempting the repairs on and I’ve left my SSD and M.2 plugged in)

I’ve used several command prompts from recovery environment, bootrec /fixmbr Bootrec /fixboot bootrec /rebuildbcd One says access denied and the other two haven’t helped. I got these error messages so far, clicking enter to try again would just land me in that same screen after a .1 second delay (idk, like it was going to do something but it failed so quickly it just went to that screen again super quick) And I cant remember what I did to get them both, I’m currently resetting the HDD to factory specs with all my files (as corrupted as they may be) no hope at all but it DID recognize the HDDs users name which it hadn’t done before, even when I got my GFs pc running with my old M.2 drive, and some new ram. So after that factory reset inevitably fails, I’m going to look up the srttrail.text and see if I can find anything there that could help.

Any and all advice would be amazing. I just want to fix this HDD and never attempt to transfer windows from one drive to another, ach. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Johan,

    It is possible that your
    HDD was unreadable
causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:

    • Shutdown
      your
      PC.

    • Unhooked
      the
      HDD
      and
      turn on
      your
      PC.

    • Reconnect
      your
      HDD
      and
      restart
      your
      PC.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    laptop/computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
