Windows 10: Keyboard input overlay appearing in games Windows 10 1903/1909

As the title says, the keyboard input overlay appears when (mostly) I press the default keyboard combination of alt+shift. I've tested this on 1903 and 1909. This never happened to me on previous versions.

The only thread I could find is here, but there's no answers (or the suggested fix doesn't do anything).

Anyone else encountered this issue and has some sort of a resolution? I'm debating to roll back to 1809, because this is quite annoying.

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

 

Windows 10 1903 and 1909 Keyboard issue

Hi,

While updating many client computers in recent days (crypto update) I encountered users whose keyboard input is not appearing at all within Edge nor the search box on the taskbar. If I start ctfmon.exe the keyboard input appears in Edge but the search
box continues to ignore keyboard input.

This issue has occurred mainly on desktop computers with wired, usb keyboards and some laptops with wireless external keyboards attached (usb dongle, not Bluetooth).

Keyboard input works correctly in every other application on the affected machines including the login screen.

My personal desktop is also afflicted while my surface book is not. Both are completely up to date for windows updates and on 1909 as of 1/16/2020 .

I might add all the affected machines were working normally prior to Build 1903.

Radeon Overlay not displaying all options

Ok, I got a question. The options to hide the overlay are confusing. What are the steps to turn on the overlay in-game? Not interested in logging much at the moment. Is Alt-R part of turning it on/off?
