Windows 10: Bootres.dll.mui - What is it?

Hi there,


I have a Win10 IoT drive that implements the UWF. Also have a file check every time the system restarts that checks to see if any files have changed and fails to boot if there are differences. After one restart, the boot fails because Bootres.dll.mui changes even though it's ReadOnly and the UWF is enabled.


What is the purpose of the file? Why does it get changed?

DLL Missing

The problem is, that the required DLL is not actually even listed there.
There are just dozens of download adware links from the top to the bottom.

 

Regular '.dll', '.ini' and '.mui' file encryption, and others

The three .dll encrypted files are the following:

• cmiv2.dll
• fms.dll
• Tabbtn.dll

I ran the scan, it resolved two of the files but fms.dll is still encrypted. I have a Windows CD, could I use that, to fix the file?

 

DLL Missing

I actually posted the link for the "list of troubleshooting steps to resolve your boost_threads.dll problems" which is located half way down the page. I did not mean to promote any downloads.

Why don't I just go back and indicate that on my original post? That way there's access to the 'step-by-step' instructions, which are accessed via those green 'plus' signs next to the topics.
