  1. VIDEO MEMORY MANAGMENT INTERNAL error / NVIDIA driver incompatibility / PCI EXPRESS ROOT...

Okay so my issues started after a clean reinstall of Windows 10 onto my kid's Lenovo Z710 ideapad type 80AK, Windows 10 v1909 64bit with intel i7 and Nvidia Geforce GT 745m graphics card: the laptop was continuously crashing and freezing without resuming processes.

Everything seemed to work fine after reinstall, until opening a program or app that makes great use of the graphics adapters, I assumed since the initial error would only occur whenever my son would play a game Sims 4, for example, it ran perfectly before reinstall on the laptop; so I expanded the virtual memories on drive C and D to an amount that would surely accommodate whatever page he was running, doing that helped, but didn't eliminate the problem bc windows would still crash. The next thing I did was attempt to update all the drivers to the visual components, I manually updated Intel, DirectX and was working on the Nvidia adapters with the Geforce Experience application that was available on the website bc I couldn't immediately find the current game ready driver: the application indicated that the current driver available was not compatible with my version of Windows 10, so I found an older but pretty recent version of a game ready driver 419.17 and tried reinstalling that one manually, and even that one absolutely would not work so I contacted their support service for help obtaining an appropriate driver.

Nvidia support had me go into Device Manager to check for updates manually, for whatever reason the adapter is appearantly detected but not connected, so they had me uninstall the adapter, shutdown the laptop, unplug it, turn it back on, take out the battery, replace the battery, plug it back in, turn the dern thing back on, and we all presumed the system would detect the graphics adapter automatically and reinstall it: that did not happen. So the next thing they had me do was install the current driver available, which did install but the adapter was still not connected... they had me do this twice and with no progress.

So then I tried the Troubleshooting application in Devices and Printers, and straight away my device panel is indicating "driver error" in Status and the application itself indicates PCI EXPRESS ROOT PORT error which is unresolvable within the application, it's an error that was not present prior to following instructions from Nvidia support Troubleshooting was one of the FIRST things I did when we started having the VMMI error and I have yet to receive a response from them about it.

Any instructions to help me resolve this from here is MUCHLY appreciated.

    :)

  2. Frustrating problem: nVidia installer cannot continue the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware

Yes, I did find a solution that worked for me. I noted that I had a yellow 'bang' on the PCI express root port in Device Manager. I had thought that an unrelated issue, but apparently it was not. It seems that the PCIe express root port problem prevented
the operating system from discovering PCIe devices such as my Nvidia video card. The solution that I found, and that worked for me, was to change the driver for the PCI express root port. I looked for local drivers, selected PCI-to-PCI bridge. Let me know
if you need a step by step on that.

    Good luck.

    PCI Root Complex uninstalled

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

In a PCI Express (PCIe) system, a root complex device connects the processor and memory subsystem to the PCI Express switch fabric composed of one or more switch devices.

    Please reply to these questions:

    1. What is the make and model of the mouse?

    2. Have you tried with different USB ports?

Let us try the following methods:

    PCI Express Root Complex issue:

Method 1: It is a component of the motherboard; update the chipset drivers from the manufacturer’s website and see if that helps.

    USB mouse issue:

Method 2: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Hardware and Devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Devices.

    Refer these steps:

    1. Press Windows key +X, select Control panel

    2. Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons

    3. Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel

    4. Run the Hardware and Devices

Method 3: Try with different USB ports, and see if that helps.

Method 4: Update the mouse drivers, and see if that helps.

Follow the steps below to update drivers.

    1. Press Windows key + X and click on Device Manager.

    2. Expand Keyboards, Mice and other pointing devices.

    3. Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.

Hope this information helps. Do reply, if you need further assistance, we will be happy to help you.
