BSOD with Code 135 and 51

    Hello,

I have recently had two BSOD's and I think it could be related to my RAM. I have run Aida64 for over 9 hours and MEMTEST+ for over 5 hours but nothing failed. Here is the first report from Reliability Viewer.

The system seems to run fine under heavy usage i.e., Aida64, Visual Studio compiling, and playing games, but when at rest it crashes. I'm not overclocking anything so that isn't it, I have run "sfc /scannow" and it didn't find any errors, I have updated the BIOS on my motherboard, all of my drivers are up to date, and Windows is up to date. Is there anything else I can try? I can also send the mini-dumps if that helps.

    new BSOD after 51 days

I had taken out two RAM sticks (#2 & #4) of the four I usually have in place and ran Memtest with 22 passes and no fails. My computer seemed to be running fine for 51 days with no BSODs (as opposed to a BSOD once every 2 to 3 weeks). This BSOD (MEMORY_MANAGEMENT) occurred immediately after waking up the computer from standby.

I will be swapping out the two sticks for the other two sticks (#2 & #4) + a Memtest overnight, and will run those to see how it fares

Alienware Area 51 m15x BIOS Update Released

If you were among the group of people experiencing overheating issues with your Alienware Area 51 m15x laptop, then there are some good news for you. A new BIOS update, version X29b P3A30 is now available. The update allegedly allows VGA fans to increase up to 5400 rpm and thus better cool the GPU. To obtain the new BIOS, you'll need to email the m15x support line (L: Area51_m15x@alienware.com). In reply you should receive a link to the BIOS .zip archive. Once you download the small file, Alienware recommends to follow the steps described in the Read full story marker.

Open Nero Ultra Edition, click Backup, and then click “Burn Image to Disc.” Next, select the file “m15x_x29b.iso from the unzipped folder.

    • Plug your AC adapter in
    • Disconnect all third-party peripherals
    • Don’t turn off the computer or restart it during the update
    • Don’t eject your DVD/Blu-ray drive during the update.
    Steps:
    • Open BIOS by tapping F12 during boot
    • Set BIOS to boot from your CD-ROM drive first
    • Save and exit
    • Upon reboot, the BIOS flash update will proceed
    • Click “Yes” through the prompts
    • Restart
